GSS Protection Coverage Verification

Using our GSS software CONDAT offers complete protection coverage analysis of armoured vehicles and systems in accordance with STANAG 4569/ AEP 55. The analysis include:

  • GSS Ballistic models based on CAD data
  • Evaluation of ballistic test results
  • Calibration of ballistic reduction algorithms
  • GSS analysis over azimuth and elevation
  • Verification document including polar diagrams and 360° protection AVIs

This service is based on 40 years of application of GSS that cover over 70 tracked and wheeled armoured vehicles of different user nations and manufacturers.

GSS – Ballistic Simulation Software

GSS (Gesamt Schutz Simulation) is a software package for analyzing the ballistic protection of armoured vehicles and systems. The simluations are based on detailed 3D geometric models and complex reduction algorithms for projectiles, fragments and shape charges. GSS contains the following functionalities:

  • Interactive single shot analysis
  • Line Of Sight and area weight analysis
  • Area scan with user-defined grid size
  • Calculation of tandem shape charge warheads
  • Integrated AVI-creation for 360° analysis
  • Calculation of Slat-, Net- and similar protection systems
  • Calculation of ballistic weak areas like edges and welding lines

Mine and IED blast simulation

CONDAT offers you complete mine and IED blast simulations for armoured vehicles in accordance with the STANAG 4569 / AEP 55. The simulations include:

  • Creation of FE-models based on CAD data
  • Calculation of non-linear structural behaviour with a focus on structural and material damage and failure
  • Special models applied for welding lines, screws and bonded surfaces.
  • Calibration for models of vehicle, soils and explosives based on laboratory and full scale tests.
  • Complete documentation including tables, pictures and animations.

These services are based on 40 years of experience in the development and application of our proprietary FE solver “CONDAT Dyna 3D”.

Personal protection and Vulnerability

As part of an analysis with our proprietary software Genvest, CONDAT is able to offer you modelling and evaluation of personal protective gear against ballistic, mine and IED threats.

An analysis includes:

  • 3D representation of body anatomy and protective gear
  • Definition of level of protection ranging from “unprotected” to “ fully protected” (helmet, boots, vest)
  • Definition of failure intervals from 0 to 30 minutes
  • Single shot analysis
  • Single shot profiles
  • Calculation of injury statistics with Monte-Carlo-Simulations

Ballistic Database LOSANA

LOSANA is a program for creating an maintaining data basis for ballistic test results. It is tailored to meet the needs for ballistic test documentation through automatic graphic depiction of the test setup as well as a optimized scroll-, sort-, search- and print-functionality.

An important part of this software are the tools for calculating mass efficiencies, area weights or multi-hit-situations.
The ability to link files (certificates, pictures, etc.) directly to a database entry in LOSANA enables the bundling of data of single test or entire test sessions.
